Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary therapy involving the stimulation of acupressure points in the feet. It has been found to be very effective in healing the body, relieving stress and returning the body to a state of homeostasis (bringing the body back into balance)

“A big, full of happiness shout out to Anna Lewis for an amazing massage today. My head now turns from left to right again (and back – it’s a miracle), legs no longer ache, shoulders are relaxed and most importantly my fuzzy, stressed out head is now calm, with clear mind. I’ve been on high all day since the massage this morning and feeling more positive than for months.”

Reflexology, also known as zone therapy or acupressure, is a 4000-year-old healing art of foot, hand or face massage. According to this art, the hands and feet are believed to have pressure points that correspond with particular organs and the nervous system. By stimulating these acupressure points, I will be directing energy throughout your body’s systems to promote good health and teach the body how to heal itself.

I offer gender inclusive reflexology and have recently extended my training to include Fertility, Pregnancy, Labour Pain & Natural Induction and Hormonal balancing.

After experiencing unexplained infertility myself, I am very passionate about working alongside couples to help them on their fertility journey. I provide a safe space to talk about any issues or concerns that you are having and having worked with a reflexology therapist during my own fertility journey, believe reflexology treatments can assist conception.

I also treat pregnant women throughout pregnancy and offer a very special labour induction and pain relief session too.

Clients often report a feeling of instant relaxation during their first treatment and ongoing health and wellbeing benefits the more frequently they visit for treatments.

Benefits of Reflexology include:

RELIEVE STRESS & ANXIETY

One of the most significant benefits of getting a reflexology massage is that it helps alleviate stress and anxiety. It opens up neural pathways, allowing positive neural energy to flow freely. This creates a state of harmony between the mind and the body, leaving you in a much calmer, relaxed state.

BOOSTING METABOLISM AND ENERGY LEVELS

With increased circulation and organ function, your body starts to fire on all cylinders, which is why a reflexology massage can actually increase your metabolism. Just one reflexology session can therefore result in increased energy levels, higher clarity & focus and more sound sleep.

HORMONAL REBALANCING

Hormonal imbalance is a result of stress and is due to a hormone called cortisone. When we are under stress our bodies release cortisone as a natural way of responding to danger – the fight or flight response. This results in elevated heart rate and general anxiety which can manifests in the form of high blood pressure, mood swings, osteoporosis, erectile dysfunction and premenstrual syndrome. Reflexology works very effectively to reduce stress and the body’s cortisone levels.

IMMUNE SYSTEM BOOST & REMOVAL OF TOXINS

Reflexology helps to remove toxins from the body by boosting blood circulation and lymphatic movement, resulting in a body detox and promoting a healthier immune system. Applying pressure to and massaging reflexology points can stimulate the appropriate organs to release stored toxins.
Building up the body’s natural immune system helps it to fight bacteria and infection more easily and swiftly.

DEEP RELAXATION

Like with massage, meditation, yoga, and sound healing, Reflexology activates the parasympathetic nervous system, helping reduce anxiety and giving the receiver a sense of wellbeing and calm.

IMPROVING BLOOD CIRCULATION

Stimulating nerves in the feet increases heart function, allowing the heart to pump more efficiently, thereby increasing oxygen rich blood supply to arteries, the brain, kidneys and other vital organs.

INCREASE YOUR QUALITY OF SLEEP

Massage, through the use of various techniques including Reflexology, is able to re-align the body’s circadian rhythm, resulting in a feeling of calm and more undisturbed/deep sleep patterns.
